Kyle Vanderhoof ’18, M.S. Mechanical Engineering, is a Segment Industrial Engineer (IE) for Mars Snacking North America – Gum & Mints. Kyle has eight years in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. In his current role as an IE, he focuses on manufacturing supply chain analysis for new products and assesses, justifies and gains approval for capital spend projects for gum and mint products. Prior to this, Kyle held project engineering/capital project management roles at Mars where he scoped, planned, and budgeted equipment installations in a manufacturing setting (mostly for chocolate products), covering infrastructure, packaging, and processing technologies. His most notable project was the installation of a new chocolate plant at the Mars facility in Elizabethtown, Pa., where he managed ~$15M of scope as part of a larger $125M project.
