Robert (Rob) Firman ‘10, P.E., is a structural engineer at RDM International, Inc., specializing in forensic investigations, rehabilitation design, structural health monitoring (SHM), and nondestructive testing (NDT) for airports, bridges, ports, and other critical infrastructure assets. With more than a decade of experience, he is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple jurisdictions and an AWS Certified Welding Inspector, with expertise in structural analysis, bridge inspections, condition assessments, advanced instrumentation, finite element analysis (FEA), and load testing. Additionally, as a structural specialist with Virginia Task Force 1, Rob deploys to national and international disasters under FEMA and the U.S. Department of State, conducting post-disaster structural evaluations and supporting emergency response efforts.
